National Domestic Violence Hotline – 1 (800) 799 – SAFE

*You do not have to report your sexual assault. You can receive a forensic exam without reporting the assault to the police. If you have been sexually assaulted and want a forensic exam, go to the emergency room of your preferred hospital. A SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) will provide you a PERK (Physical Evidence Recovery Kit) exam. An advocate from your local dv shelter/rape crisis center will be available to accompany you if you wish.

EPEC is a licensed 501(c)3 providing legal and medical advocacy, therapy, prevention education, and shelter to victims and secondary-victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual violence, stalking, and teen dating violence in the counties of Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan. Help Room

EPEC, partnered with RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network), offers an online chatroom for victims of sexual violence. The Helproom is live online every Monday at 6:00 PM and Wednesday at 2:00 PM. Trained advocates will be available to provide resources and discuss important topics and experiences. Helproom is open to past or present victims.

WV Foundation For Rape Information Services

WVFRIS is WV’s state sexual assault coalition. WVFRIS works with rape crisis centers and other allied professionals to develop and strengthen intervention and prevention programs in the state that address sexual violence and stalking. Find more resources and information at fris.org.

WV Coalition Against Domestic Violence

WVCADV is a statewide network of community-based domestic violence programs and statewide offices working to end personal and institutional violence. Find more resources and information at wvcadv.org.
