What Will You Learn - Curriculum Overview

With an Accounting degree, students learn accounting skills needed to seek employment directly in real well-paying roles including accounting clerk, auditing clerk, financial analyst, bookkeeper, bank teller, budget analyst, and more.

The Accounting degree teaches core concepts needed to enter the world of accounting or plan a pathway to transfer to a 4-year program. The Associate degree in Accounting can be acquired in approximately two years, saving money before transferring to a four-year school. The Accounting degree builds real time knowledge. Entry level positions have an average wage of $45,560 for roles as an accountant, bookkeeper, auditing clerk, and accounting specialist.
An Associate degree in Accounting at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College lets you meet your career goals with flexibility and affordability. With this degree, you obtain the required accounting skills and trade knowledge that allow you to enter accounting roles or transfer to a four year school.
With an Associate of Applied Science Degree, you will be eligible to work in different accounting roles such as accounting assistant, auditing clerk, bookkeeping clerk, financial clerk, purchasing managers, administrative services manager, underwriting clerk, brokerage assistant, and more.

With an Accounting Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Degree in West Virginia, you will learn bookkeeping and data management and usage of computer programs for accounting tasks. The Blue Ridge CTC Accounting program develops problem-solving and analytical skills in business and tax accounting related roles. Entry level positions provide lucrative career opportunities.
Admission requirements for the Blue Ridge CTC Accounting program include a high school diploma or equivalent and a complete application packet. Students who have earned credits at other Colleges or Universities must also provide official copies of those transcripts. There is also a $25 application fee that can be paid at any time after submitting the application.
The Blue Ridge CTC Accounting program does not require ACT or SAT scores to qualify for admission. Students may need ACT or SAT scores, or free placement testing to qualify for courses such as English, Math, or Chemistry. Placement testing can be scheduled at any time during the application process.
