The Environmental Science Technician certificate develops an understanding of the foundations of environmental science, occupational health and safety. The program allows students to:

The Environmental Science Technician certificate prepares students with workforce-ready skills through hands-on training required to pursue rewarding careers as environmental technicians.
This program enables students to execute technical and professional skills in actual work situations as environmental sampling and testing technicians, water and wastewater technicians, and similar occupations.
Students learn core concepts in the environmental science field such as geographic information systems, introduction to safety, industrial hygiene, the laboratory technician (I and III), introduction to OSHA and EPA, wastewater operator, and more. Learning outcomes include:
