Blue Ridge Community and Technical College has partnered with BankMobile Disbursements to deliver financial aid and other school refunds to BRCTC students. Students should carefully review the information below to understand how to elect to receive a financial aid refund.
OPTIONS FOR RECEIVING REFUNDS
Students have options to receive financial aid and other school refunds. Review the guide for getting started and make your selection today!
DEPOSIT TO AN EXISTING ACCOUNT – Money is transferred to an existing account the same business day BankMobile receives funds from your school. Typically, it takes 1 – 2 business days for the receiving bank to credit the money to your account.
DEPOSIT TO A BANKMOBILE VIBE ACCOUNT – If you open a BankMobile Vibe checking account (upon identity verification), money is deposited the same business day BankMobile receives funds from your school.
TRADITIONAL CHECK – If a direct deposit option is not selected, a paper check is mailed from BankMobile. NOTE: Checks are mailed 21 days after receipt of funds.
SETTING UP DIRECT DEPOSIT
All students will be asked to select a refund delivery preference from the options listed above. Here’s what you need to do:
- Update your mailing address
BankMobile will mail a Personal Code to the current address you have on file with Blue Ridge Community and Technical College. If you’re not sure that Blue Ridge Community and Technical College has your current mailing address, please take a moment to log onto your BRIDGE account to update your address information.
- Look for your Personal Code
Starting on 08/07/2020, look for your Personal Code, it will arrive in a bright green envelope and by email from BankMobile. You may use any Personal Code assigned to you to select your refund preference.
- Select how you want your money delivered
Once your Personal Code arrives, go to RefundSelection.com and enter your code to get started. Then simply select how you’d like to receive your money. If you select the BankMobile Vibe Checking Account as your refund choice, you will receive a temporary virtual Debit MasterCard® to use until your physical card arrives in the mail.

Who is BankMobile?
BankMobile is a third-party servicer authorized by the U.S. Department of Education to distribute federal student aid & other student refunds on behalf of participating colleges and universities. Blue Ridge CTC has contracted with BankMobile to give students more choices on how they can receive their refunds.
How can I change my refund selection?
After setting up your initial account, you can log into BankMobile’s website to update your refund selection preference.
Visit BankMobile’s www.RefundSelection.com webpage.
Click Log In (upper right-hand corner),
Select Refund Preferences from the Refunds menu option
Make your new selection,
Click the Update Preference button to complete the process.
Be aware that your new selection will only affect future money you receive from your college.
How do I know when my refund has been sent?
BankMobile will send an email to the address on file when a refund is sent. Students can sign up for text message notifications through the BankMobile website.
Can I have my refund sent to someone else’s account?
Blue Ridge CTC strongly discourages using a friend or family members account for direct deposit. The College does not have the ability to modify a student’s BankMobile direct deposit preferences. All current and future direct deposits are directed to the account on file. Students are encouraged to explore the variety of banking options available to establish a checking or savings account.
What if I do not make a direct deposit selection?
Students who do not sign up for direct deposit will have a paper check mailed. Paper checks will require approximately 21 days to be processed. Students are strongly encouraged to sign up for the direct deposit option.
