Blue Ridge Community and Technical College students are gaining hands-on experience through the college’s 160-hour Heavy Equipment Operator program.
Delivered in partnership with Heavy Metal Playground, the program combines safety instruction, substantial machine time, jobsite expectations, and employability skills. Students train in a realistic environment while building the confidence and practical experience needed to pursue careers in construction and related industries.

The program supports Blue Ridge’s ongoing efforts to connect students with high-demand career opportunities and provide employers with a skilled regional workforce.
