Blue Ridge Community and Technical College Board of Governors met at the Main Campus with a virtual option via Zoom on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
The meeting was called to order at 12:02 pm by Chair, Ms. Heather McIntyre.
Ms. McIntyre continued with the approval of the August 2026 meeting minutes.
Dr. Checkovich presented the President’s Report, highlighting recent media articles pertaining to the Institution.
Dr. Ann Shipway, Vice President of Workforce and Engineering Technologies presented the Workforce report. Dr. Shipway provided an overview of the recent Manufacturing Association celebration that occurred at the Technology Center. Dr. Shipway provided an update on grant projects with industry partners. Dr. Shipway concluded her report with an overview of the College’s participation in Higher Education Commission Academy.
Ms. Leslie See, Vice President of Enrollment and Allied Health, presented the enrollment report. Ms. See highlighted strong unofficial fall enrollment.
Dr. Craig Miller, Chief Financial Officer and Ms. Lacey Walp, Accounting Manager, presented an overview of financial performance as of June 30, 2026. The meeting adjourned at 1:18 p.m.
