Blue Ridge Community and Technical College hosted Explore: The New Manufacturing Academies on Friday, April 8, 2022.
Students from North Middle School, St. Joseph School, and South Middle School in Berkeley County attended the New Manufacturing Academies on Friday, April 8, 2022. Students worked in groups and listened to presentations from local companies, including FirstEnergy, Procter and Gamble, Rockwool, and Technimark. Students learned about products made in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and jobs available in those facilities. Various facets of manufacturing, such as operations, environmental health, safety, quality control, research, development, etc., were explored.
Blue Ridge CTC Director of Customized Training, Kimberly Moss, led students on a tour around the school showing them the hands-on learning opportunities available at BRCTC.
“The Explore the New Manufacturing Academy event allows students to see the opportunities available in their community,” said Moss “BRCTC is proud to partner with local middle schools, the West Virginia Manufacturing Association, and businesses to support our community in all stages of the learning and training cycle.”
