Blue Ridge CTC Nursing Testimonials

Here What Our Students Have to Say About the Program!

“Before entering the nursing program at BRCTC, I had no healthcare background, which made the journey both exciting and intimidating. Looking back, choosing BRCTC was one of the best decisions I could have made.

The dedication of the nursing faculty and staff was evident from day one. They genuinely wanted every student to succeed and challenged us to think critically, develop confidence, and provide safe and compassionate patient care. The clinical instructors were equally outstanding. Because of the strong foundation I received at BRCTC, I felt well prepared for the NCLEX and nursing practice. I was able to pass the NCLEX just 10 days after completing the program, which I believe speaks to the quality of education and preparation provided by the faculty.

I am incredibly grateful for my experience at BRCTC and would highly recommend the nursing program to anyone considering a career in nursing. The knowledge, skills, confidence, and support I gained have been invaluable as I begin my nursing career.”

“Nursing school is demanding and time-consuming, but the BRCTC Nursing Program combines small cohorts—which foster connection, study groups, teamwork, and mutual support—with a faculty that genuinely cares and takes the time to know each student. Throughout the program, I always knew I could approach any of the nine ladies in the nursing office if I needed help, guidance, or encouragement. More often than not, I left feeling supported and motivated.

There are many aspects of the program that I particularly appreciate. The curriculum gradually transitions students from more lab time and less clinical time to extensive clinical experiences with minimal lab requirements, helping build confidence and competence along the way. Pharmacology is thoughtfully spread across three semesters, easing the burden of memorization while integrating medications with the pathophysiology and nursing concepts being taught concurrently. The availability of Success Specialists provides valuable academic support, the mentor program encourages both personal growth and service to others, and the Student Nurses Association works hard to connect different cohorts while promoting community outreach and engagement.

Since starting at BRCTC, I have repeatedly been surprised by both small and significant blessings: unexpected financial aid opportunities, a thoughtfully structured educational experience, supportive instructors, opportunities to work in healthcare as a Patient Care Technician and later as a Nurse Extern through collaborations between BRCTC and Berkeley Medical Center, a surprise baby shower, and academic honors and recognition.

The last two and a half years have certainly not been without challenges, but I am grateful for the growth, experiences, and relationships that came from them. It has been an honor to walk alongside classmates, faculty, and staff who have influenced my journey and whom I hope I have impacted in return. I am admittedly over-the-moon excited that this season of life is coming to a close, as I look forward to reclaiming more balance in my life—and my husband is certainly looking forward to having his wife back. At the same time, I am saddened to close this chapter. I have come to appreciate not only the challenges of nursing school, but also the people, friendships, and community that have made the experience so meaningful.”

“During my time in the Nursing program with Blue Ridge CTC I have gained so much more than I could have imagined. Entering the program as a current LPN, I already had a decent amount of nursing experience under my belt, but Blue Ridge’s program provided me with a more well-rounded experience to enter the field as a Registered Nurse. The teachers, clinical instructors, and other staff members want you to be successful, and ensure you have the confidence and practical skills essential for your nursing career. Although nursing school is not easy and is very demanding in nature, the sense of accomplishment and readiness I feel upon graduation is unparalleled.  I’ve gained confidence, personal and professional growth, and a continued sense of belonging with this specialized career path. I highly recommend Blue Ridge CTC to any person who is serious and compassionate about pursuing a career in nursing.”

“The Blue Ridge CTC Nursing Program was fit for me for its small class size as it enables the instructors to identify and help us during the program and make sure we come out successful. There were plenty of times where I felt like I was very behind from the rest of my class and my instructors and other staff helped me get through the two years. They are very accommodating and will do their best to help you even outside of class hours and will give you plenty of resources to help you succeed. This program helped me develop many nursing skills and even useful personal skills that benefitted my everyday life. Nursing school is a difficult and demanding major to pursue, but BRCTC helped me get through it with confidence. I am thankful for my past 2 years with Blue Ridge CTC’s Nursing Program.”
