Summer School Financial Aid

Students interested in applying for financial aid during the summer terms are required to complete a separate Blue Ridge application in addition to the FAFSA.  Since all students do not attend summer school, the application specifies that you wish to receive aid for summer sessions, if you qualify.  For Summer 2018, all summer school aid will be awarded based on remaining eligibility and on the number of credit hours in which you are enrolled.  If you plan to attend any of the three summer sessions, your eligibility will be based on the previous award year.  For example, during Summer 2018, your aid will be based on remaining eligibility that is left over from 2017–2018.

Summer School applications will be available online through your BRIDGE account after the beginning of spring registration and you must wait to submit the application to the Financial Aid Office until after you have registered for summer classes.  You will find the Summer School application under the Financial Aid – Eligibility – Student Requirements section of BRIDGE. It will be listed as an “unsatisfied requirement” with a link to an application for you to complete. Applications will not be processed until you are registered for summer classes.  Also, completing the Summer School application does not guarantee aid eligibility.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  You must be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours to receive federal student loans.
