Martinsburg, WV. Blue Ridge Community and Technical College Board of Governors met virtually via Zoom on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
The meeting was called to order at 12:09pm by Chair, Ms. Heather McIntyre.
Ms. McIntyre continued with the approval of the February 2025 meeting minutes.
Dr. Checkovich presented the President’s Report, highlighting recent media articles pertaining to the Institution.
Dr. Ann Shipway, continued with the Workforce report. Dr. Shipway provided an overview of current training opportunities and program initiatives for the College. Dr. Shipway concluded her report with an overview of the Tourism Works certification program.
Ms. Laura Busey, Dean of Instruction, presented Program Reviews for: Applied Laboratory Technician (AAS and CAS), Occupational Development (AAS), Culinary Arts (AAS and CAS), Data Management (AAS and CAS), Digital Media (AAS and CAS), Information Technology (AAS), Information Security (CAS), Software Development (AAS), Accounting (AAS), Human Services (AAS), Education (AS), and Social Sciences (AS). The Board will approve the Program Reviews at the next meeting.
Ms. Leslie See, Vice President of Enrollment and Allied Health Sciences presented the enrollment report.
Dr. Craig Miller, Chief Financial Officer presented the Finance report. Dr. Miller reviewed the FY26 budget presentation and FY 26 Tuition and Fee Proposal.
The Board passed a motion to remove the 12-credit hour maximum charge on tuition. The Board passed a motion to increase tuition by 5% to $208/credit hour. The Board passed a motion to increase high school tuition to $50/per credit hour. The Board passed a motion to increase supplemental fees for Accounting, Biology, Criminal Justice 288, Medical Assisting 214. The Board passed a motion to increase program fees for Emergency Medical Services and Radiologic Technology. The Board passed a motion to adopt the budget proposed for fiscal year 26. All changes will take effect in Fiscal Year 26.
