Sterile Processing Technician Program

Sterile Processing Technicians perform and participate in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment. Sterile Processing Technicians usually work in hospitals, day surgery clinics and other health care settings. These technicians play a crucial role in healthcare settings by ensuring that medical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and safe for patient use. These individuals work diligently behind the scenes to maintain the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Sterile processing technicians are responsible for preparing and assembling medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment maintaining the sterile processing areas, and receiving and distributing surgical supplies and equipment.

The Sterile Processing Technician with Externship Program is a total of 120-hours. This includes 80 hours for didactic (classroom training) and 40 hours for externship (lab experience).
