Welcome to the most awe-inspiring academic year in the history of Blue Ridge Community and Technical College. As our marketing campaign highlighted, it is a year of a new campus, new website, and a NEW YOU.
This year is unique because it is the first year in which students will attend the dedicated new 46-acre campus located at 13650 Apple Harvest Drive. This campus provides you with many opportunities that were previously not available to our students. The 55,000 square foot building houses a year-round bookstore, an internet café with food service, state-of-the-art science and medical labs, and the most pleasing to our students, 500 dedicated Blue Ridge Community and Technical College parking spaces. This campus has long been a mission of this administration and we couldn’t be more pleased that it has come to fruition. The focus of the entire campus is 100% how best to serve our students’ needs.
As if opening one new campus isn’t exciting enough, we are opening up a campus in Morgan County this year as well. This property is designed to expand our educational services for the residents of Morgan County. Through our branch, which is located at the Pines Opportunity Center, we hope to increase the college going rate of high school students and to offer adult learners the opportunity to advance in their careers, to start new careers, and to engage in life-long learning. The staff and faculty working at Morgan County are committed to the well-being of that community.
At Blue Ridge Community and Technical College, we are committed to providing an excellent education using the latest technology to produce a qualified workforce. We will continue to add programs that are needed in the service region. In addition, we will continue to provide services that will ensure our students are given the best chance of academic success.
I am pleased that you are considering Blue Ridge Community and Technical College for your academic journey. If you are looking for a quality education which is affordable and which leads to a good career or transfer opportunity, I strongly urge you to choose us. Please contact our Enrollment Management Office to find out how you can enroll. It is the year for NEW YOU.
Best wishes for the 2012–2013 Academic Year!
