In my role as the Disability Support Services Coordinator I meet the mission by helping students overcome obstacles in order to obtain their goals. One student in particular obtain two associate degrees from our institution. This individual now works as a full-time employee for the local public service district. With the necessary accommodations provided by disability support services the student was able to reach his full potential. I meet the mission by making sure the bills get paid and the toilets keep flushing. I also helped ensure that students get to use the facilities as needed. Hi I'm Derek and this is Terry. We meet the mission by keeping the staff students and visitors safe. Recently we bought a patrol vehicle to make patrols out in the parking lots and we also bought safety whistles for safety purposes. Now remember if you see something say something. As an admissions counter I'm able to help meet the mission by having opportunities to meet with prospective students of all ages and from all walks of life. One thing that I love is that I'm able to help adult learners start their education after being out of school for at least 30 to 40 years. I'm able to help them be that support that they need to take that leap of faith and I'm proud to say that I've been able to help them go through that process, get their education and they're well on their way to graduating and giving back to their communities. Hi I'm Susan Richmond in the financial aid office and the way that our office helps with the mission here at the college and also any one of us here financial aid counselors is to help students and parents with a FAFSA paperwork. The FAFSA is the basic bottom line paperwork that we need to get started in the financial aid process. Sometimes there can be glitches in that the parent or the student has problems with it electronically and we are there to help one-on-one. We like face-to-face contact and that some people just are unable to work with the electronic process. Just this morning I was helping a mother and student with their process and that the mother couldn't get past her user ID and password so we worked with it and we came up with a better solution and she was happy and everybody's all good to go.
