Description
Performs a variety of duties to ensure efficient, cost effective and timely handling of phone installations and problems related to voice communications within the Health System. The Telecommunications Engineer is required to understand, implement, test, and provide, primarily on-site support for the technical and integration requirements of on premises and cloud-based telephony solutions. This role is responsible for the design and implementation of new communications technologies, ensuring that the projects are completed on time and in accordance with specifications, and maintaining existing infrastructure to include moves, adds, and changes to existing solutions.
Education – AA degree in telecommunications or related field, or equivalent from technical school. Three years of experience as telecommunications technician may be substituted for the education requirement.
Experience – Minimum of 3 years of experience in a communications environment, including installation, relocation, movement, and change experience; able to work with blueprints. Demonstrated performance of these activities in an independent setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification – N/A
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Some knowledge of networking protocol, advances telecommunication skills.
