Developed with the community in mind, Blue Ridge CTC is excited to announce a variety of Unity Programs providing supportive pathways for students to achieve academic goals. Review the programs below targeting our local community including high school graduates, continuing students, and our essential employees.


No Application Fee through August 30, 2020

Blue Ridge CTC is waiving application fees for all new students now through August 30, 2020. Take advantage of no application fee and begin training for a new career during the summer or fall semester!

*Any student who has already paid the application fee for the summer or fall term will receive a credit on their student account.

Blue Ridge CTC understands your college plans may have changed due to recent events. We are excited to announce ALL Spring 2020 high school graduates are eligible to enroll and receive a scholarship for one 3 credit hour class during the Summer 2020 semester AND one additional class during the Fall 2020 semester. This offer is open to any public or home school graduate from any local or surrounding out-of-state county. Offer includes recent high school graduates who have already enrolled at Blue Ridge CTC.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Students must have graduated high school during the 2019-2020 Academic Year.
  • Students must enroll as a degree seeking student.
  • Students must satisfy all enrollment requirements.
  • Students are responsible for additional course and textbook fees associated with enrollment.
  • Offer applies to enrollment during the Summer 2020 AND Fall 2020 semester.
  • Register for Summer/Fall class. Scholarship will be automatically applied to your student account.

Scholarship award possesses no cash value and is nonrefundable. Award applied as a scholarship and part of a Financial Aid package, where applicable. Total waiver amount equals the cost of one 3 credit hour course ($516) at the in-state tuition rate per semester. Students who are classified as out-of-state or metro are responsible for the difference between classification and scholarship award.

An Essential Thank You

Blue Ridge CTC understands many of our students and community members have been deemed essential employees during the pandemic. We are demonstrating our gratitude for your service to our community by offering you a scholarship for one 3 credit hour class.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Complete the Essential Employee Form. Next steps provided via email after form is submitted. 
  • Submit documentation of essential employee status. (Work schedule, letter from employer, pay stub, etc.)
  • Students must enroll as a degree seeking student.
  • Satisfy all enrollment requirements.
  • Enroll/continue courses during the Fall 2020 semester. Free course valid for the Fall 2020 term.

Blue Ridge CTC continuing, degree-seeking students registering for the Fall 2020 term may be entered for a chance to win a 12 credit hour scholarship for the Fall 2020 term PLUS a free class for a friend! Register for Fall classes by June 30, 2020 and be automatically entered!

Five lucky students randomly selected to win. Winners announced July 6, 2020 and contacted via phone and BRCTC email. Students should verify contact information is up to date via BRIDGE.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Offer valid for continuing, degree-seeking students only.
  • Student must be registered by June 30, 2020 to be automatically entered. Any continuing, degree seeking student already registered for the fall term is automatically entered.
  • Winners receive a 12 credit hour scholarship applied for the Fall 2020 semester as a degree seeking student.
  • Winners also receive one scholarship for a 3 credit hour class to gift to a new Blue Ridge CTC degree seeking student enrolling for the Fall 2020 term.
  • Students are responsible for additional course and textbook fees associated with enrollment.

Scholarship awards possesses no cash value and is nonrefundable. The free course(s) will be applied as a scholarship and part of a Financial Aid package, where applicable. Continuing student 12 credit hour scholarship equals $2064: 12 credits at the in-state tuition rate of $172 per credit hour. Gift scholarship equals the cost of one 3 credit hour course ($516) at the in-state tuition rate per semester. Gift scholarship must be awarded to a new BRCTC student. Students who are classified as out-of-state or metro are responsible for the difference between classification and scholarship award.

Sew 50+ Masks Receive $100 Scholarship

Blue Ridge CTC is collecting masks to donate to our local healthcare organizations. You can help! Give back to your local community and receive $100 scholarship for the Fall 2020 semester. Plus, the first 10 individuals who donate receive a $25 Follett Gift Card.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Sew at least 50 masks to be donated to healthcare providers in our region.
  • Email unity@blueridgectc.edu with a picture of you and your masks. Include your contact information.
  • Schedule a time to drop off your masks at the Blue Ridge CTC Main Campus.
  • Receive a $100 scholarship to be used during the Fall 2020 semester as a degree seeking student.
  • Students must satisfy all enrollment requirements.

Scholarship possesses no cash value and is nonrefundable. Scholarship is part of a balanced Financial Aid package, where applicable. Total award amount equals $100 scholarship for 50 or more masks. One scholarship awarded per student.
