Cooperative Purchasing

Cooperative Purchasing

As a State agency, Blue Ridge is required to competitively bid purchases that will exceed $50,000 per fiscal year. However, many items have already completed the bidding process through a cooperative buying group. Cooperative purchasing is defined as “procurement conducted, or on behalf of, one or more public procurement units”.

Blue Ridge now belongs to two cooperative buying groups, Sourcewell and E&I. As part of these groups, we are able to make purchases without competitively bidding. Additionally, many of these vendors offer a discount for being part of the group.

To find a complete list of vendors visit Sourcewell and E&I.
