Blue Ridge CTC Partners to provide Skill Enhancement Training to HVAC Technicians
Martinsburg, WV. Blue Ridge Community and Technical College partnered with Blue Flame Propane and the Propane Education and Research Council (PERC) to provide propane safety and skill enhancement training. This vital training provides support to local area students and also current Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technicians.
During Fall 2020, the College was awarded a $10,000 grant for training equipment to support individuals who work with propane. As part of the grant, the College had to appoint a Propane Advisor. Brian Crespo of Blue Flame Propane in Berkeley Springs, WV took on this role and worked to acquire equipment to promote program curriculum. Crespos’s industry knowledge was essential to the technical expertise offered within the skill enhancement training.
To date, the College has offered a series of training sessions with topics including the safety of installing and managing propane gas, updated techniques, and equipment knowledge. Each session, students included a mixture of new and experienced HVAC technicians seeking continuing education opportunities within the field.
Thanks to the collaboration with Blue Flame Propane, Brian Crespo, Eric Stahl and the Propane Education and Resource Council, the College anticipates the success of additional training sessions. For more information about upcoming sessions, contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
