Blue Ridge Student Receives Scholarship from Jefferson County Community Education Outreach Service
Martinsburg, WV – Blue Ridge Community and Technical College student Esther Behm was recently awarded the Jefferson County CEOS Foundation Scholarship. After enrolling to pursue the Physical Therapist Assisting program, Behm found herself unemployed due to COVID-19. She began seeking additional resources to fund her education and connected with the Blue Ridge Community and Technical College Foundation. After applying for scholarships, she was excited to learn that she had been selected for the Jefferson County CEOS Foundation Scholarship. Sponsored by the Jefferson County CEOS Club, this competitive opportunity provides a $1250 tuition scholarship to up to three qualified applicants each semester.
Jefferson County CEOS Club’s mission is to strengthen individuals and families through continuing education, leadership development, and community service. For over 80 years (under multiple names) the clubs have strived to make Jefferson County a great place to live, by working in cooperation with the West Virginia University Extension Service to coordinate the work of local clubs into a unified program for the improvement of families and communities throughout the county. The club has offered and granted scholarships to Blue Ridge CTC students every year since 2015.
In her letter of appreciation to Jefferson County CEOS Club Esther Behm wrote:
“I was able to go into the Fall semester without having to worry about how I would be able to pay out of pocket because of the CEOS scholarship! I would like to thank the Jefferson County CEOS for supporting my education and helping me get through this semester financially. I am so thankful that I was even considered for this scholarship and cannot thank the organization enough for all the help they have provided to me!”
