Prospective Students: Steps to Enrolling
-
The first step in coming to school is to apply for admission.
Since there are different types of admission, please refer to the admissions page and decide which one is right for you. You can also receive directions on this page as how to download the application.
** Be sure to fill out all sections of the application and return all other material required. Please read the directions carefully, failure to do this may result in the delay in the processing of your application. **
- The second step in coming to school is to apply for financial aid (if wanted).
You can refer to the Financial Aid Page for detailed information.
Remember, even if you think that you or your parents make too much money, fill out the paperwork anyway, free money is always good.
There are also outside scholarships that are available. Refer to the Financial Aid Page for more information.
FAFSA School Code: 039573
** Be sure to fill out all sections of the application and return all other material required. Please read the directions carefully, failure to do this may result in the delay in the processing of your application. **
- The third step in coming to school is the Admissions Office contacting the student about acceptance.
You may receive a lot of information, it is important to note which office is calling and who is calling from the office. This helps if you need to call back with questions.
If Admissions asks for anymore paperwork, please return it as soon as possible.
If you have never taken SAT/ACT, you will be contacted by our placement coordinator for testing.
ACT School Code: 4532
SAT School Code: 5615
Be sure to return your Enrollment Confirmation, by not doing this you will not have an appointment to meet with an advisor and register for your classes.
If you have any questions, please contact the office that sent you the material.
You should also receive a SAR (Student Aid Report) from FAFSA. They will have your EFC (Estimated Family Contribution) and the Financial Aid Office will award you money, if you qualify. Be sure to submit any corrections to your FAFSA on the form that is returned to you.
- The fourth step in coming to school is Registration and Orientation.
You will receive more information on Orientation/Registration in the mail at the beginning of the term you are planning on attending school (will be included with your acceptance letter). You are required to pre-register for and attend an Orientation/Registration Session before starting classes.
If at any time you have questions, do not hesitate to contact Blue Ridge CTC. There is an open door policy and questions are always welcome!
