If you dream of earning a bachelor’s degree, but the cost of a four-year institution is out of reach, STEP onto the Ridge! The Student Transfer Education Program (STEP) program gives local students the opportunity to complete core courses while living at home and paying the community college tuition rate.
Complete your core general education courses close to home, then transfer to any state institution of higher education. You may transfer up to 32 credits in the areas of English composition, communications and literature, mathematics, natural science, and social science as liberal arts credits.
Blue Ridge Community and Technical College works closely with other West Virginia schools to ensure that credits are transferable. These schools include, but are not limited to: Shepherd University, Marshall University, and West Virginia University.
Courses listed below appear on the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission/West Virginia Council for Community and Technical College Education’s Core Coursework Transfer Agreement . This agreement assures that students who transfer from one state college or university to another will receive credit for liberal arts courses at the receiving institutions.
