How do I start a new club or organization at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College?
A club or organization of special interest may be formed, as long as it benefits the student body of Blue Ridge Community and Technical College. Clubs and organizations can introduce you to new interests, friends and contacts. Being a part of a club or organization is a great way to get involved and help not only your college grow, but you as a person. Becoming a recognized club/organization at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College is simple. The following information will walk you through step by step in your process.

Step 1:
Find a full or part-time faculty or staff member to be an advisor.

Step 2:
Gather at least three members and decide who is President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer.

Step 3:
Develop a constitution and (if desired) by-laws.

Step 4:
Submit all the information to the Student Affairs Counselor (existing clubs and organizations - you are finished).

Step 5:
New club/organization that has never been recognized on campus - you will be notified when and where SGA meets and then asked to present your proposal. You will then be notified of the final decision as soon as possible.

Once all your required information is submitted, the Student Affairs Counselor will review the constitution and check all officers/members grade point average. Once all that information has cleared, the information will then be submitted to the Student Government Association (SGA).

(If this is the first time this club has existed on campus, SGA will have to review your constitution and reason for forming this new club/organization before final approval.)
