Specialty Books will be on campus on Wednesday, May 14 and Thursday, May 15 from 10:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. in the old SBDC room (just past the Academic Resource Center) to buy back any texts you no longer need. Recycle your books to get back up to 40% of your investment and provide other students with the opportunity to get used books. Order for Delivery for Summer Term and Save 5%!

The Summer Online Bookstore is now open.

Order your Summer Term texts for delivery to your home or office and save 5% off the price you’ll pay in the mini-store. You can also order your texts for pick-up at the mini-store. The earlier you order, the better your opportunity to get used books. Financial Aid information is now available. So, here’s what to do to order.

Specialty Books Information

Specialty Books is the official bookstore of Blue Ridge CTC. All you need to order your books is your course schedule from BRIDGE and a computer or a phone!

Here’s a quick Specialty Books guide to help you.

Two ways to order!

1. Go online at www.specialty-books.com/blue_ridge. Once there, you’ll find a drop down list of Blue Ridge courses for the upcoming term. Simply select your courses and a list of all required and recommended course materials will appear. Just select the materials you’d like to purchase for each of your classes, and proceed to the online “checkout,” where you will be given payment and shipping options.
2. Call 800.466.1365 to speak with one of Specialty Books’ friendly representatives. With your BRIDGE schedule, they can tell you exactly what the required and recommended course materials are for each of your classes. They will also explain payment and shipping methods, so that you can get the books you need when you need them.

Shipped right to your doorstep!

No lines! No waiting! Order online or on the phone and the books will be delivered directly to your home or office, generally within two business days or you can choose to pick up your order at Specialty Books' mini-store on the Blue Ridge campus May 27-29. To take advantage of this easy option, you'll need to order by the end of the day on Tuesday May 20. Remember that if you are a contract student, TAA, WIAA, etc., you must specify pick-up at the mini-store for your shipping method.

Payment Options

No matter how you choose to purchase your books, you have numerous payment options available, including

• MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover
• Personal check, money order, certified check
• Western Union (contact Specialty Books for details)
• Financial Aid
• Third Party Payments

Please note that when paying with a personal or business check, that the photo id of the person purchasing the books must match the name on the check. Please make the proper arrangements if someone else is paying for your textbooks. We are unable to accept third party checks.

What about Supplies and Other Stuff?

You can buy basic supply items such as pens, pads, spiral notebooks, and electronics such as calculators and flash media at the online bookstore. If you order these online or by phone, you’ll save on taxes.

Specialty Books Campus Summer Mini-Store

From May 27 – May 29, Specialty Books will have an onsite bookstore in Room A01. There you can--

• Purchase books you didn’t order
• Purchase Blue Ridge CTC clothing.
• Do exchanges or refunds
• Purchase supplies and electronics
• Pay with any of the methods listed above.

Mini-Store Hours:

Tuesday May 27	8 a.m. — 6 p.m.
Wednesday May 28	9 a.m. — 5 p.m.
Thursday May 29	9 a.m. — 1 p.m.

Third Party Purchases

If your employer or another agency is buying books for you, they may do so by ordering online or by phone with a credit card or check, or by submitting a company or agency purchase order. The purchase order must be to Specialty Books and include the following information:

Company/Agency Name
Student’s Name
Company Contact Person
Billing address
The specific titles you are ordering and the total dollar amount
$8.00 for UPS Ground shipping.

You can find which textbooks you need for your classes and the cost at the Blue Ridge online bookstore, www.specialty-books.com/blue_ridge, or by calling 800.466.1365. Once your order is processed, an invoice with Net 30 terms will be sent to the company or agency.

Financial Aid Purchases

Specialty Books will have financial aid information in their system. If you order online or by phone, you’ll select Financial Aid as your payment option. If you purchase your books at the mini-store, simply tell the Specialty Books’ staff person who is helping you and the transaction will be taken care of at check-out.
