Placement Testing Assessment is offered regularly year-round for new and current students to determine readiness for college level Reading, English, and Mathematics courses. Placement Testing is for all BRCTC Students who do not have ACT or SAT scores, have never taken a college level English or Math course, or who have ACT SAT scores and did not place into College level English, Math or Reading courses. Placement testing/assessment is not pass or fail – scores determine whether Students will start in College level English and Math courses or whether they need Foundation/Developmental English, Math and Reading courses first. Testing Services provides preparation and study materials for students, advises students of placement scores, and offers options for re-testing.
The SKILLS 101 Program provides skills enhancement in a condensed format for placement into credited English and mathematics. This week-long boot camp refreshes students’ mathematics and English skills. At the program’s end, students are given placement tests to determine the need for developmental or college-level courses. This program is offered at no cost to participating students.
