The Testing Center Assistant administers tests for placement, faculty, external testing, and other tests as scheduled. Responsibilities include test security; explaining testing practices and policies to test takers, faculty, and staff, in compliance with the guidelines of the National College Testing Association and professional testing vendors; and entering and reporting testing data. This position provides direct support to students, as well as administrative support to the Coordinator Academic Testing and Learning Resources. Evening and weekend hours will be required.
Education and experience: Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred. Three years' experience in working with the public, preferably in higher education; administrative experience and computer knowledge; or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Skills and abilities - Ability to communicate effectively and to establish good working relationships with staff, students, and outside agencies; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; ability to embrace and learn new technologies, integrated computerized systems, and trouble-shoot software problems; ability to organize and prioritize work requests to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision; ability to make appropriate decisions independently; and ability to attend to details.
