FULL-TIME SECURITY GUARD

Blue Ridge Community and Technical College is seeking candidates for the open position of full-time Security Guard.  The qualified applicant must be a high school graduate or have a GED, have never been convicted of a felony, and be bondable.  The individual will (1) conduct unarmed patrol – interior and exterior and ensure all locks and means of access are secure, (2) communicate effectively with the public, (3) document all incidents and provide written reports regarding security activity, and (4) report suspected crimes or suspicious persons to appropriate police department.  Candidates must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.  This is a 12 month salary position with benefits.  Please send cover letter, resume, and three references to Human Resources, Blue Ridge CTC, 400 West Stephen Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401.   Position opened until filled.  AA/EOE

Physical Therapist Assistant Faculty

Blue Ridge CTC is currently looking for a full-time 11-month faculty in our new Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program. This is a two year grant funded position with an option for renewal. Minimal requirements include a PTA with a bachelor’s degree and at least one year clinical experience. A Physical Therapist is preferred. Experience in acute care/rehabilitation is also required. Experience in neurology is also preferred. RECORDS ASSISTANT II

Blue Ridge Community and Technical College is seeking candidates for a Records Assistant II this position is a 30 hour a week position with benefits.  This position will serve under the direction of the Registrar and will assist in all duties within the Office of the Registrar.  This position will focus on the transferability of credits and articulation agreements with other institutions. Some travel required so dependable transportation is a must.

Minimum requirements: Must have computer experience with excellent typing, communication (oral and written), and time management skills.  Must be able to type 40 words per minute and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs including Word and Excel; and have experience with spreadsheet creation and advanced filtering and sorting.

General Physical Science Adjunct Instructor

Adjunct Faculty

The School of Liberal Arts and Transitional Studies (LATS) at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College is seeking daytime and evening adjunct faculty to teach various transfer, developmental, and general education courses. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience teaching at the high school or community college level.

A master’s degree in the specific content area or related field is required to teach the following transfer courses: COMM 202 (Speech) ENG 101 & 102 (Written English I & II), SOCI 203 (General Sociology), PSYC 203 (Introduction to Psychology), PSCI 101 (Political Science), HIST 101 & 102 (History), and GSPE (General Studies Physical Education). 

A bachelor’s degree in content area or related field is required to teach the following community college/general education courses. Experience with developmental education and instructional technology is also preferred: ACFN 010 (Intro to Critical Composition/English), ACFN 065/085 (Pre and Basic Algebra), ACFN 095 (Developing College Reading Skills), CGEN 100 (Critical Thinking and Learning), and CGEN 101 (Career Transition).

IT ADJUNCT FACULTY

The Division of Business and Technology at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Adjunct Faculty member to instruct Cisco CCNA and CCNP courses. Course curriculum is based on Cisco Networking Academy material. Applicants must be IT professionals and have a current Cisco certification to be considered for the position. Electric Distribution Engineering Technology Instructor(s)

Blue Ridge Community and Technical College (BRCTC) is a growing institution serving Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties.  BRCTC is seeking to fill adjunct faculty positions within the division of Economic and Workforce Development.

Instructors report directly to the Technical Program Coordinator within Economic and Workforce Development.  The position is responsible for delivering instruction in the Electric Distribution Engineering Technology Program.  The candidates will be responsible to help in curriculum development in conjunction with industry experts and program coordinator.

Successful candidates must possess a strong work ethic, safety first attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a team environment, willingness to work some weekends and evenings.

Candidates must possess at least five years experience as a climbing electric lineman and be able to effectively demonstrate working on utility line systems in a teaching environment.  High School/GED is required.  College experience is preferred.  Experience teaching in a working environment is preferred.   Basic computer skills are required.  

Job Duties:

  • Create a positive training atmosphere designed to ensure safe work practices are used and optimal learning environment is achieved.
  • Assist program coordinator in creating and updating curriculum.
  • Conduct class instruction and assessment.

Lab Supervisor/Instructor Assistant

Blue Ridge Community and Technical College (BRCTC) is a growing institution serving Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties.  BRCTC is seeking to fill part-time positions within the division of Economic and Workforce Development.

The Lab Supervisor/Instructor Assistant reports directly to Technical Program Coordinator within Economic and Workforce Development.  The position is responsible for setting up and maintaining classrooms and labs for the Electric Distribution Engineering Technology program.  The candidates will be responsible to help in curriculum development and delivery in conjunction with industry experts and program coordinator.
