General information:
Linux+ is an entry-level certificate program, developed by CompTIA™, which measures vendor-neutral Linux knowledge and skills for an individual with at least six months practical experience (Network+ or A+ background). Students taking this course will learn the fundamentals of the Linux operating system including how to configure Linux system services, how to manage a Linux system in a networked environment, and finally, how to manage the servers a Linux system provides.
Course Overview/Description:
This course will prepare students to work with the Linux operating system and help them prepare for the Linux+ CompTIA certification exam. Students will install three different Linux operating systems and complete many hands-on lab exercises.
Students will install the Linux operating system.
Students will develop an understanding of Linux terminology and file systems.
Students will perform file maintenance tasks.
Students will perform common system administration tasks.
Students will perform system backups and troubleshoot problems.
Students will configure systems for networking including security.
Students will install software and work with file compression.
