Blue Ridge CTC Rotaract Expands Outreach to Community
Martinsburg, WV. The Blue Ridge Community and Technical College (BRCTC) Rotaract continues to find new ways to serve students and the community. Most recently, BRCTC Rotaract established a new Little Free Library, located at the Main Campus and Technology Center of the College. This free exchange program allows students and community members to take a book or leave a book, free of charge. BRCTC Rotaract hopes to encourage reading by establishing a literacy program that benefits all members of the campus and local community.
Blue Ridge CTC Rotaract, established March 2015, has maintained an active presence both on campus and within the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. In November, 2017, BRCTC Rotaract received the Rotaract Presidential Citation Award, recognizing their accomplishments with Rotary and the community. (picture attached) The award comes after BRCTC Rotaract completed several successful projects last year, including The Attire for Hire project, Interact/Rotaract Mixer, United Way Day of Caring, CCAP Loaves and Fishes Food Drive, Water & Sanitation Awareness Event and Pancakes for Polio Breakfast.
BRCTC Rotaract hopes to earn the award again in 2018 for their service to the community, beginning with the Little Free Libraries outreach program. Students or community members interested in participating in BRCTC Rotaract should contact: Todd Cimino-Johnson, BRCTC Rotaract Advisor.
