Martinsburg, WV. Blue Ridge Community and Technical College has been awarded a $5000.00 grant from the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation’s Tom and Virginia Seely Morgan County Children’s Fund to support the Morgan County High School Seniors Textbook Program.

“We are honored to receive this grant from the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation,” said Dr. Peter Checkovich, Blue Ridge CTC Founding President. “Our discounted high school tuition rate, paired with the Morgan County High School Seniors Textbook Program, provides early access to higher education for Morgan County students.  This grant award develops our community and assists in increasing the college-going rate in Morgan County.”

The Community Foundation was established in 1995 and awards nearly $1 million in grants and scholarships annually. With more than 220 endowed funds and assets of just over $23 million EWVCF is one of the largest grantmaking organizations serving the Eastern Panhandle.

EWVCF awards grants and scholarships through a competitive application and review process. Thanks to an outstanding board of directors, generous donors, professional investment advisors, and a dedicated staff, the Community Foundation is on track to grow to $28 million in total assets by the end of 2020.

The Foundation is located at the historic Caperton Train Station at 229 East Martin Street, Suite 4, Martinsburg, WV 25401. For more information, visit the website www.EWVCF.org  or contact EWVCF Executive Director Michael Whalton at mwhalton@ewvcf.org or call 304-264-0353.
