Martinsburg, WV. Blue Ridge Community and Technical College Board of Governors met at the Technology Center in Martinsburg on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. The meeting was called to order at 12:04 pm by Board Chair, Keith Unger.
Mr. Unger began the meeting with approval of the October 2018 minutes.
Dr. Checkovich continued the meeting with the President’s Report, highlighting recent media articles pertaining to the Institution.
Dr. Checkovich introduced Ms. Necole Liowns, Site Education and Training Leader for the Procter and Gamble Tabler Station Site. Ms. Liowns provided an overview of the partnership between Blue Ridge CTC and Procter and Gamble. Ms. Liowns noted there are currently 550 employees at the Tabler Station plant. Once fully operational the plant will have 900 employees. As part of the partnership with Procter and Gamble and Blue Ridge CTC, employees receive specialized training to prepare for employment at the plant.
Ms. Leslie See, Vice President of Enrollment, presented the enrollment report. Ms. See noted the official enrollment reported for the Fall 2018 semester was 6273.
Ms. Kristy Scarlata, Comptroller, presented the Finance Report with an overview of FY 19 quarter financials, noting a strong financial position.
Executive Session was not held. The meeting adjourned at 1:04 pm.
