Martinsburg, WV. Blue Ridge Community and Technical College Board of Governors met at the Main Campus in Martinsburg on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. The meeting was called to order at 11:58 pm by Board Vice Chair, Stephanie Harvey.
Dr. Checkovich continued the meeting by introducing Jackie Griggs, Academic Program Specialist/Instructor, who introduced three Shenandoah University representatives: Dr. Adrienne Bloss, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Melissa Carroll-Wood, Director of Clinical Education and Stephanie Cross, Program Director, Division of Respiratory Care. Blue Ridge CTC signed a new transfer agreement for students enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science in Healthcare Professions degree. Under the agreement, Blue Ridge CTC students complete a prescriptive list of courses outlined for direct transfer into Shenandoah University’s Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care.
Ms. Harvey continued the meeting with approval of the April 2018 minutes.
Dr. Checkovich presented the President’s Report highlighting recent media articles pertaining to the Institution.
Dr. Ann Shipway, Vice President of Workforce and Engineering Technology, presented the Workforce Development report. Dr. Shipway updated Board Members on the Institutional Compact. Dr. Shipway concluded her report with an update on various grant applications and new programs planned for fall 2018.
Ms. Leslie See, Vice President of Enrollment, presented the enrollment report. Ms. See began her report with an overview of upcoming events, including the annual Commencement Ceremony, May 24, 2018. Ms. See concluded her report, noting strong summer enrollment figures.
Ms. Kristy Scarlata, Comptroller, presented the Finance Report noting financials on track with quarter projections. Dr. Craig Miller, Chief Financial Officer, continued the Finance Report by presenting the FY 19 budget proposal. The Board passed a motion to accept the FY 19 Budget Proposal.
Executive Session was not held. The meeting adjourned at 1:13 pm.
