Martinsburg, WV. Blue Ridge Community and Technical College and Shepherd University will meet Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. to sign a new transfer agreement for students seeking degrees in education, nursing, criminal justice, and credit for workforce experience programs.

Dr. Peter Checkovich, President of Blue Ridge Community and Technical College and Dr. Suzanne Shipley, President of Shepherd University, will sign the agreement in the Presidential Board Room, located at the Blue Ridge Community and Technical College main campus.

The Associate of Science in Education is a new program that will be offered to Blue Ridge CTC students starting Fall 2014. Students who earn their degree in Education with Blue Ridge can then transfer to Shepherd University where they can earn a bachelor’s degree in teaching concentrations such as social studies, general science, biology, mathematics, English, or elementary education.

Students who complete the Associate of Science in Nursing at Blue Ridge CTC can also transfer to Shepherd University to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

This agreement also includes the Board of Governor’s program offered by Blue Ridge CTC. Graduates now have the option to continue their studies with Shepherd University in the R.B.A. program.

These new agreements allow students to seamlessly transfer to other institutions and earn additional degrees. Blue Ridge Community and Technical College continues to seek new partnerships with Colleges and Universities to promote continuing education opportunities for current students and alumni.
